Everyone's a Winner at the
Plant & Civil Engineer Awards 2008

The construction industry here may be fighting off some unwelcome challenges because of the economic downturn, but that hasn’t stopped it celebrating all that is great and good.

The successes of the past year have been recognised at the industry’s biggest networking event of the year - the prestigious Plant & Civil Engineer magazine’s Plant, Construction & Quarry Awards 2008, held at the Ramada Hotel in South Belfast.
Among the winners in the 13 categories were Farrans Gilbert-Ash JV who picked up the award for ‘Construction Project of the Year,’ for Victoria Square in Belfast, as well as being named ‘Construction Company of the Year.’
The Norman Emerson Group was named ‘Tipper Operator of the Year,’ PT McWilliams won the ‘Civil Engineering Company of the Year,’ and ‘Heavy Haulage Operator of the Year’ was WJ Law of Lisburn.
The awards ceremony is organised annually by Plant & Civil Engineer, Ireland’s magazine for the plant, quarrying, municipal and civil engineering markets, with the aim of identifying the best in the industry.
General Manager/Editor Cathie Blackwood commented: “The event is all about celebrating the successes of the industry and it recognises those organisations and individuals that have been truly outstanding in their particular fields of expertise.”
Plant & Civil Engineer, and its sister publications, the Irish transport journal ‘Export & Freight’ and ‘Sustainable Ireland,’ which covers the waste management, renewable energy and environmental sectors, is published by Hillsborough based 4Square Media.
